The Story of La Cresta

We often hear inspiring tales of people following their life-long passions and finding heretofore unrealized bliss- a proverbial happily ever after. That has not at all been my experience. I have had to press on, day by day, year by year- and just believe. I have had to die to myself, serve Him, and rest patiently in God's love and the love of my amazing wife Shawnda, and wait. In 2018, by the everlasting grace of God, we acquired La Cresta and began another journey.

La Cresta is a place, a promise, a trial and a blessing. It fights me, heals me, and bewilders me. It is mysterious yet visceral; ancient and yet new every day. I have found it both a place of testing, and a place of sublime spiritual revelation.

I hope these photos and writings serve as a testament to the steadfast love of Jesus Christ and the value of placing our faith- of placing our lives and loves- in his merciful hands.
